Enclume MPC-05 RACK IT UP Ceiling Bar Pot Rack (pair) Overviews
No matter the size of the kitchen, kitchen space is almost always limited. We love to cook but don't like having to dig through cluttered drawers, cupboards and cabinets to find what we need. Pots and pans take up a large amount of our kitchen space. For the past three centuries, cooks and chefs have avoided this problem by using wall and ceiling mounted pot racks. RACK IT UP, Enclume's all-new value-priced pot rack line, has expanded on this concept with its Ceiling Bar Pot Rack (with two bars). With this ceiling mounted rack you'll be able to hang your favorite pots and utensils for easy access and save precious counter and cabinet space. Plus, this rack adds beauty and charm to one of your favorite gathering rooms. It's constructed of durable steel and includes super strong, new technology drywall toggles that are so easy to install and don't require bolting to joists or studs. Hang whatever you want; once in place, this rack will hold well over 100 pounds. It's also light weight (just 7 lbs.) so you won't need a handyman to install it. Keep your kitchen accessories organized and convenient so you can spend less time fighting with your kitchen and more time loving it. Includes 8 hooks, hardware and drywall toggles. Install bars parallel, in line or separately. With this model you can also add RACK IT UP Trim Ceiling Covers (2 sets) plus extra pot hooks. 22"W x 13"H.

I chose this pot rack because I liked the idea of being able to hang the bars separately. I wanted to put them into a corner, and a traditional oval or rectangular rack wouldn't fit the space as well. We installed the bars perpendicular to each other, forming an "L" in the corner space.
Installation was incredibly easy. Once we figured out exactly where we wanted to mount them (the hardest part!) it was maybe 15 minutes before I was hanging pots on the completed racks. My only minor concern about the construction is that there's an "S" piece that goes between the ceiling hook and the vertical member of the rack. The "S" has fairly wide openings, and I would feel a little more comfortable if they were more closed, such that there's no chance of knocking the piece out of one end or the other. Of course, fully weighted, this is probably fairly unlikely.
I maximized hanging space by using the included angled pot hooks to allow skillets to nest on one bar, while staggering handle length of pots on the other bar using the straight pot hooks. You get about as many pot hooks as will be able to fit on the rack, so I wouldn't worry about buying any extras, although they are available.
I like that the design is such that when you take off an item, you don't upset the balance of the remaining items. I also like that the finish (while neutral on its own) is easily paintable, according to the item descripion and the package inserts. We didn't opt to paint before installing (mostly because a) I'm super-impatient and b) it's January and too cold to spray paint outside) but will probably do so later.
Overall, I was thrilled with the ease of installation, love having pots and pans within easy reach, and am very pleased with the flexibility and value of this item.

This item works exactly as advertised. It is an excellent space saving pot rack. It has a couple of minor problems. The bars that hold the pans/skillets are not held as well as I would like. I really cant see a problem with their coming undone but I lean to overkill with a product that hangs overhead. I mounted mine not overhead but in front of me so that they are not over my head. These are designed for nine foot ceilings. Mine are eight feet and this rack hangs too low. In my method of mounting they are over my sink and about two feet from the front edge of the sink. In this manner there is no problem with height. I am five feet eight. One of the skillets I have hung is a 12 inch with helper handle by Cuisinart. This item would touch my head if mounted directly overhead. The rated weight of this item in 1/2 inch sheetrock is 265 pounds PER attachment of which there are two. The next sentence reads that for safety no more than 25% of a maximum load should be used. That lowers the poundage to about 65 lbs PER attachment. That is NOT a problem. The short length of the rack almost precludes more weight than that being placed upon it. I suppose that four or five cast iron pans might be an issue but certainly nothing else would. Mounting is a breeze, very well thought out.
